  • What is wrong with this pic?

Apparently someone is rather clueless about engines. This was posted on the facebook page of my brother, the mopar nut. It would take a Dodge person to mistake this for a Ford.

I don't see oil leaking from it so it's probably not a Ford...

Must be the rare Ford 215 aluminum motor from the early 60s.

Nice try, but you should know that Studebaker is a German word for "leaky engine".

I've never seen a bare V-10 block from either Mopar or Ford. What distinguishes them?

Squirrel for the win. Thank you Jim, it was almost irritating me earlier, I couldn't place it. Buick 215.

1BadMonkey, yeah, looks like wine bottles. I kind of have to give this project an F. What message is it sending? It lacks testosterone. I get confused by this Andy Warhol shit.

What kind of uncultured cretin stores red wines with the cork pointing up?

If its not a REAL CORK cork... then you can store them that way. cheapo wine as in what an uncultured cretin would buy! I'm suprised there's not a square 'box 'o wine' in those round holes.

That's it. It was driving me crazy. I knew it wasn't a Ford MEL 383, 410 and 462's as well as the 292 & 312 Y blocks. Definately not MOPAR. AMC 287 & 327 were also Y blocks. It looks and like a Pontiac but they're not Y blocks. I was thinking maybe some sort aftermarket Pontiac block. I was looking at it on my cell phone so I couldn't see all the details. Completely forgot about the Buick and Olds aluminum blocks. IIRC, they both used the same block but with different heads.

Oh yeah, not a Corvair either.
