My '97 Ram 1500 with the 318 gets 18-19 highway. It drops off pretty quickly when you get off though. I've got 31's on it now, not sure if I can go much bigger without a lift. It's held up to my abuse fine, and my dad worked it pretty hard before I got it. It does pretty good in the snow, 1-2 foot in some instances, even with tires that weren't the greatest. Throttle is your friend there though. There is quite a bit of slop in the front end, though with 175K, quite a bit off pavement, that's to be expected. Probably time for a rebuild. Any 3/4 ton will ride a lot rougher, though I don't know how much of a difference it'll make in fuel mileage vs a 1/2 ton.

There is always this one, not too rusty, just needs a crate engine and a bit of work... Could paint it and fix the cab corners. It would be one less thing in my yard too! Radius the wheelwells, give it a lift, some 33's and build a nice bike ramp for it. Stuff a mild 350 in it with some vortec heads, a Qjet and HEI for dead nuts reliability. That is the plan I have had for it, and would have done last year if I didnt get sick.
