I Don't Know About Harbor Freight

I ordered a tool kit from them. When I had it on the screen, it said they had 7 in stock.

A long time later, Unit reminded me it had been long enough to wonder where it was.

Sent them an email and got back an automated response saying they were way behind, expect a response within 48 hours.

So, 48 hours later I get an email saying my kit has been shipped, that it was on back order. What a coincidence.

I don't know about those folks.

We have a store here in town so either they have it or they don't. Haven't ordered from them in years.

We finally have a H.F. in my area, and as luck would have it, one of my best friends is the store manager so if I want to know an items stock level, I just text him the stock # and go shopping if they have it.

I've added TONS of useful new tools to the car and hobby home shops at a low cost because of Harbor Freight. Are they the best tools-no. Do they get the job done on the cheap-YES! Thank You China!

I'm a big fan of HF 4 1/2" grinders. I usually catch them on sale for $20 or so and therefore I can have one for the cutoff wheel and one for the grinding wheel. I seem to get grinding crud in any of the many that I've had over the years so they don't hold up really well even if pricey from the start. So I use up the HF units, toss 'em, and get a new cheapo. One of these days I'll go crazy and buy a third one for the wire brush.

Work good enough... Don't worry about them being ripped off.. Who is so desperate to rip off HF tools? .. Now, Milwaukee.. Always gotta make sure it's not walked off.. Gotta change blades all the time.. With HF can have several..

Right now I've got invisible air to trade in toward nothing, and a credit card charge to show for it.

PeeWee - I hope you get your stuff. I feel you prolly will. It'll work out for ya.

I have also bought stuff from HF... both good and bad results... the sandpaper seems to suck pretty bad. I used a lot of it. The spot weld cutter bits ROCKED. I bought 4 for my rust repair project. I expected them to dull out quick... but no...... I used just one and is still in great shape after literally HUNDREDS of spot welds drilled out.

I have an electric DA palm sander that takes 6" round stick-on discs... been fantastic. lotsa hours on it and its still runnin' strong. Bought an 8" electric straight sander and it has failed twice - both times the padding that holds the paper seperated from the backing plate....not good.

My 4" grinder has been fine. No issues. its a lot louder and has more vibration than the broken Dewalt it replaced, but its workin'.

and on a personal note..... You suggested that I pursue the Camera thing...so........ I whored myself out and found a deal where I get a Sony Alpha55 16.2Mpixel camera that takes 10 frames per second and does FULLTIME autofocus and does autofocus while shooting 1080/p60i video(240minutes worth!) with 3 Sony lens's - 18-55, 55-200 and a Sony 1.8F 50mm prime lens, 16 gig sd card, two batteries, a charger, tripod, sun shade, 9 filters, carry bag.... and all the original boxes and software. The set-up has less than 100 images on it....... All I have to do for it is put a clutch (supplied) in a 2001 Honda, replace the heater core, bolt up a set of new wheels and tires (supplied) and install new (supplied) lowering coils springs. Its already in the garage and torn apart. I should have it done in a couple days.

                          Thanks for the incentive PW.

                          Hijack over.
