I'm sure this could be debated for a long time. I've been heavily in to the Pro Street scene since the late 70's and I'm fairly certain the first to get the national attention was Scott Sullivans II.
Something I will never do nor get the chance to ride in.. Can still appreciate what went into these cars..

the easiest pro street vehicle to build, remove front and rear leaf spring mounts, box the inside of the frame, mount leaf spring mounts on inside of frame, cut out the inner fenders for the rear tires in the bed and either extend them inwards or buy and weld in the aftermarket ones, me and another guy did one of these trucks on a saturday, brought us a lowering kit along with wheels and tires, looked bad ass when we were done, but was a complete terd with its worn out 305
