  • Slot car Question-Legends of the 1/4 mile set

It's an HO drag race set. Does anyone have any pics of one assembled out of the box? I wanna buy one, but they all are shown in the box, lacking enough detail to generate my interest. Can anyone give more info and pics than what's shown on ebay/Google? Thanks

Find a working "Scat City" set that Mopar sold in the 70's they have a tree built into the console and you have to hit the gears at marked shift intervals or the car loses power but I think they're 1/32nd size.

I had one, but it was called Shutdown. I got it Christmas 1968. Amazing functionality for $15. The 3rd version was Four on the Floor. Same basic set, each of the 3 versions molded in different color plastic

I kinda regret selling my Shutdown a few yrs ago. But every time I took it out of the closet it looked worse and worse. I played mine hundreds of times. Still probly the best childhood toy I ever owned. Wanna sell yours??

And they have a John Force set just like the TF set but, it's $20 more. We do a Le Mans type start when we do H/O drags. We lay the trigger on the table, and your hand flat on table next to it, have the odd man out do a flashlight blink, and the first car across the stripe wins. We use Life-Like brand track and shut-down length starts with a piece that has the connections clipped so the cars aren't powered.

We like racing the old T Jets with the rock hard skinny tires, and use 20v Tyco power pack, more like real street racing that way with spinning tires LOL.

Yes, I've seen them. That's why I started this thread. To get more info before buying it. I had a 12 ft one yrs ago with working tree/4 speed/trap setup. Then the 4 speed could be put in reverse to bring the cars back to the start afterwards. If this thing's just pull the trigger and the cars fly off at the end I probly won't be interested
