GEM Low Speed EV: Does anyone have experience we these?

I have the chance to pick up a four seat GEM tsreet legal LSV for really cheap. While at worst I think I can clean it up and flip it, I'd actually like to keep it as its perfect for our part of the world here in SoCal.

I'm trying to avoid buying something I'll have to lose monry on the sell if there are documented problems. It isn't charged up and I suspect the batteries are toast.

I don't have specific experience, but you can replace the battery pack, the controller, and the motor for not all that much and have a 48v tire smoker. They're pretty neat little buggies, I wish they were not such a hassle here. You can't drive them on a road posted over 35 mph I believe which leaves me with no way to the grocery store. Every through N-S street around me is 40.

Polaris owns them now, so I think you're good for parts.
