I was getting gas last night and a homeless man (transient?) asked me if I needed money! I was also dressed in my junkyard clothes to help complete the hard up theme, but I had to convince him that I wasn't that bad off and he could keep his pennies and dimes.

Admittedly I was pretty much laughing my ass of in the car for a few miles. Telling him 'I know the car looks bad, I know how I'm dressed, but really I don't need any money' :P I just never thought I'd see the day.....

its nice to know that someone with almost nothing is willing to give up what little he has to help someone that probably has more than he does. I wonder how many people that have a bit to spare go on past HIM and dont even give a second thought to if he needs anything.

My wife like to remind me at least 3 times a week that I look like a slob ( The, "Are you going to wear that" question as we are heading out the door). Once I am out of work I like to change into my play clothes and not worry about wrecking decent stuff. I have never been offered money though, great side business.

Same here, I usually have my Dickies work pants and a dirty shirt on when I hit the yards on Saturday. When you show up at the corner store for coffee first thing in the A.M. looking like that, they probably wonder. But hey, why should I dirty up a good pair of jeans?
