    I dig the videos posted. I appreciate their shot at humor and good musicianship with the stringed equivalent of a kazoo.

    You're gonna upset a bunch of uke players.
    It's become quite a popular instrument, enjoying a recent resurgence.
    In fact, I would say right now we are in the golden age of ukuleles.

      I think people play a uke for any or all of the following reasons:

      1. They have a sense of humor.
      2. They don't want to tote around a larger instrument
      3. They want an instrument that is easy to play
      4. They want an instrument that is relatively inexpensive


      Same reasons people play kazoos
      It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

        Johnny Winter started on a ukulele when he was a kid. I don't think he ever played any night clubs with it, though.
