  • Getting Pics Off BS

    OK Folks -

ME would like me to get the shot of her playing fiddle in the shop in the "How I Spent My Anniversary" thread and post it to our kids. Is there a way to pull a pic off the Forums? I tried the usual MAC stuff but the Forum just ignored me. Remember, I'm semi-computer illiterate.

    Thanks

    Dan

Right click, "save image as" works for me, but I'm not on a Mac.
    I'm probably wrong

Since you are on a mac, maybe easiest to have Dave email it to you.

see if you can see it now

I have no idea how to use a mac to save any image from the internet, but I expect it is possible. They just make it very difficult, in the name of simplicity.

I could email it to you if you pm me your email address

Dan....try clicking the image, and drag it onto your desktop. Or hold the CTRL key while clicking on the image, then select "save..."

I just did a drag&drop of Jim's copy to the desktop. Worked fine. Thanks Jim!

I should mess with the MAC a bit more. This is operator ignorance, not a MAC "problem".

Why would you need another keyboard on your mouse? One of young engineers at EPA had 5 buttons on top of his mouse and one under his thumb - too confusing. I would like a scroll wheel, though - next mouse will have one.

Getting closer to copying pics directly. "Option/Apple key" followed by a click on the image will let me copy the image but so far I can only leave it in a Pages (essentially, cheap MS Word) document. Probably a way to drag&drop but I'm not there yet.

I don't know...but having two buttons and a scroll wheel is nice. Get a generic PC mouse, plug it in your mac, see how you like it.

                          Dan, get Apple's Magic Mouse!

No primitive separate buttons, the mouse itself is the button. No wires, no nothing, just a touch sensitive top-surface where you can use your finger to scroll up/down, left/right, light tap, double fingerswipe... the works... ;)

But again, no silly confusing buttons!
