look at the glass - one of the bombs was inside the building (otherwise there would be no glass on the sidewalk)

I'm no expert in explosives, but I'm skeptical about the bag . . . how could it just sit there out in plain view with no one noticing it?

If it was that bag . . . then somebody's got some explaining to do. That would be a major, major security mistake.

And how about that old school postal drop box . . . apparently unscathed.

Given how necessarily sanitized the photo coverage is, I'd be cautious in assessing too much from the published photos. A grisly, grisly scene.

            the bag was black.
it is cool they got an I.D. on the dropper...no name, just I.D.

optimistically there are people within 5 to ten feet of it running with no injury...and the guy who took 7 photos to show the world that as it happened in a building just above the blast..

weak bomb by a bomb standard.

            I bet its domestic.

It doesn't take a big bomb to be destructive, especially when they are filled with bb's, ball bearings, etc.

Brian - You and the fam OK? Sounds like you'll be spending the day indoors if the lock-down extends to your neighborhood. And how do you explain this to the boys - or are they young enough that they (hopefully) don't know what's happening. This is when parenting gets tough.

I was talking with Mark (Stitch from here) he has mentioned in the past the he worked with the marathin as a volunteer every year. I was chatting with him off line last night and he said he and his wife were there this year, at the finish line...I have no reason to dispute that claim...He said she is pretty messued up emotionaly....Although physically they were not injured...

Been listening to Ruslan Tsarni, uncle of the suspects. This guy...the sound of a decent man, and this morning he is very much another angry American over this. Nice to hear.

I guess I did. Now that they caught the young men who had ten minutes of peace their whole life..

may they rest in peace. A mind snapped is a terrible thing.

I have an adopted sister from that place of their origin, was nearly starved to death as a baby.

I'll always now how lucky she is.
