  • Parting a '99 V6 Explorer...what to grab.

Going this morning to haul home the remains of a '99 V6 Ford Explorer.

    Anyone need anything?

I have dibs on the rear axle, so don't even think about that..

Anything else worth grabbing? Injectors, sensors, etc?

If you're parting it out completely - I would think you could get some decent cash for the engine and trans if those are still in working order - otherwise - surely the megasquirt folks could use throttle body and sensors.
The wheels and tires might make another good sale item - or spares / rollers to use on the back of the TR7 for a while.
How are the seats? would they work in the TR7?
There's always something new to learn.

That was a Goat Rodeo trip......apartment complex, on blocks, brake parts already missing from rear, removed rip-it-out style.

I passed. Other fish in the sea and all.

On a side note, the Explorer bolt pattern is 4.5" on the bolt circle. The actual measurement across two of the widest studs is 4.25".....just for a crude measurement.

Jeep, Ford, AMC all used 5 on 4.5 so there's a lot of options for wheel choice..
