Re: FIA license fees
Like some others have said, I don't like the fact that the more successful you are the more you have to pay. Why not just come in third or fourth and still make a bundle, but you don't have to pay as much for your license? What would be wrong with a one price for everyone?

Re: FIA license fees
On the subject of 'vanity plates' we don't have theme per se over here, we do have 'personal plates' whereby you can buy 'registration numbers' form either private sellers or companies that make money out of buying & selling 'plates' is big buisness & you can pay huge lumps of money for some plates (like RR1) I personally think anyone that pays big money for one is nuts! I'd rather buy a cool car & drive it!lol! But just last week I saw a plate that made me smileIt was on a high end BMW & read.... Y3 NOM..... just think about seeing it in your rear view mirror! ;)

I think the 250 million dollar budget keeps the riff raff out.
I think they can afford a licence.

O.K , so what does a FIA charge for a rookie F! license for since you had no prior victories the previous yr. ?

Re: FIA license fees
Well if someone told me that I could pay 300k a year to earn 10-15 million a year, I think that's money well spent.
Especially if I had 200k lying around to by a license plate with.

I guess it depends on where your priorities are.

Re: FIA license fees
I have mixed felling about this... It is the equivalent of other atheltes who spend their money on cars and women, but we are not as critical... I think there is a more feasible/econimical way to handle it... One that works for the FIA and the drivers. Lower the fee, as the increase is dramatic, where the fee schedule will go up incrimentally over the next 3-5 years.

Re: FIA license fees
Another way for someone to Bleed another. I to believe it should be a flat rate.

Re: FIA license fees
My Nascar mechanics license was $90, and I think the driver's license was something like $150. But that's just the local weekly series, not the big show.

1000 Euros equals 1550.20 US Dollars.

What do other licenses cost to renew (NASCAR, Indy Car, etc)?

Re: FIA license fees
A Euro is 1.55 US bucks....
So 230,000 Euro = $345,000.00

Re: FIA license fees
Call me simple but I think that there sould be a flat fee. Shouldn't matter that you won more the previous yr. And I have no idea how much a euro is worth .
