You have some tangential google-fu my friend. Love the stuff you find.
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Thanks STINEY, takes years of practice to learn how to search..
Now all I have to do is find a way to make money doing it!

I owned a 79 Avanti II back in the early 90's. Really cool car, I liked it a lot. The 4 door version really screws up the proprtions though.

I never knew they actually made them. A place about 7 miles from me had a body of one of those laying around. Guess it was never put on a frame. Its a parts house called Studebaker International.

Having been messin' with a REAL one yesterday (serial number 006) I have to agree. Raymond Lowey and Associates had that body PERFECT and the 4 doors really don't fit the shape. My guess is that the Texas group who built a number of the Avanit II's were hoping to appeal to a bigger audience (like the 4-door T-birds) and thought they'd try this. That's just a guess on my part.

That said, this is as nice a 4-door Avanti as I've ever seen.
