  • VWs what can't they do?

it's kind of a sweet 'n sour combination (or fast n slow)

    IMhumbleO - perfect

    the story
What you're looking at here is one of the only Porsche-factory supported single-seat race cars that you could actually buy. Well, "you" meaning some hypothetical rich you. It's also the only Porsche factory-tuned and supported VW Type 2 truck and Formula Vee car around, and it's incredible.

Formula Vee! Nice single cab too.
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

40hp formula car. funny as heck.
what is funnier is the legendary drivers that started with one.

          120mph not equal to 40hp.

Porsche played those games too. the first flat six was slower than a backyard beetle with a carb upgrade.

one has to be a fan of reality to enjoy them...everyone else goes for 10k rpm and 10 foot pounds.

When my sister was learning to drive, she had a tendency to speed. Dad would turn on the aftermarket a/c in the '67 beetle and wipe 10 mph off on the spot. It was like throwing out an anchor.

A VW transporter with a Formula Vee on the back would be more like "slow and slow". When my friends were racing them at Mosport, and we were hanging over the pit wall watching the start, we had to turn our heads the other way to see if they actually got the green flag on the rolling start, because it never looked like they were actually accelerating. LOL

Some cool stuff in those photos for sure ...love the Type 34 Ghia on the back of the lowlight Bay.

                cheers

Here's a clip of our front engine dragster, finally getting some nitro!

That is the midget production realm that drove people to make them faster than a chevelle 396.

My mom drove one, I never saw a tame one exactly.
After the clutch melted, could start off without one .. then we realized power loss was ina clutch that never held it it in the first place.

A lot of memories, keeps me going with a 200 foot pound Subaru.. also 1781cc.
                        people are stupid.

Most folks believe I was dropped on my head as a kid... that's just not true, I whacked my head on the front windshield (breaking it) when my mom went around a corner a bit too fast in her Vdubbug and ditched the car. I was launched from the back seat into the front window.
