Re: Forget Pulling Dings............Get A Tailor

I like the windshield. they dont look like that anymore and its nice that the "cutting edge" of automobiles has such a true classic roadster look to the glass design. even the Tbird and others that are supposed to look "classic" have fake looking glass and it sort of ruins them and goes a long way in making them not look right.

I am not sure that using something other metal is all that new of an idea. we have had fiberglass and polymer cars that depend on the chassis for protection for a long time. the only thing new is that this moves beyond the standard flip up headlights and rising wing on the rear.

Chris bangle has been in bad weather before, but i think he is doing great at Bmw as designer 8).New and innovative and a little bit retro.

          It's not a new Concept.

Marc Forgette in Amarillo Texas built a VW Roadster of his own Design that was completly covered by Material and dedicated to the Military Troops. It looked alot like a Chopped Short Dune Buggy/ Indy Car. It was only about 30" Tall, done in Black Silk-like Canvas. Really Cool and was a Hoot to cruz in to. It was listed on the Samba Web Site for a while I don't know if he ever sold it or not.

Interesting, probably not the most efficient way to build a car, since sheetmetal can also be structural....

Sure give a whole new meaning to slashing someone's tire's, or in this case someone's car. ;)

Would probably be pretty easy to break into, as well.

I bet it looks like the terminator underneath the skin.
