  • a lengthy video, awesome documentary about dire straits guitars

I left off with guitar after mom let her kids go.. 1985. Had 7 years of lessons before then.

I saw nothing but tractor trailers for more than a few years.

anyway, a dire straits tune I casually mastered (I won't say which one) had one of the guys in moms band keeping me playing with them every time they practiced.
the comical partt of it was my age... somewhere near 11.
my family is so diverse, they determined I hung onto english/wales with my fingers.

I still think of my own tunes and words to this day.

cool story, where one is just playing because they like it.
there is no fame and dollar signs..and it went that way anyway

may as well add a song to this post

    • looking at my dna results randomly all day at ancestry .com..
a lot to take in. And it is only the first day.

I found records going back to 1700s...
      with names like
      3rd great grandma
      philomene leroux dit cardinal

I learned this song will be turning 300 in 2022.

      ..and its only a prelude.

and mozart, he made this "for beginners" in 1805

          • one of these guitar players is my brother

and I never met him before.

just got matched the other day to make it official through dna

I am guessing they need to play quiet versions of popular songs in the small pub

            • So this song came up on my iTunes today and I went hmmmmmmm…… Drag Racing? So I research things. Yes, the name Chevelle is from the car, fast ones to be exact. Then things unravel. I was hearing the first line of the chorus as "So lights out". Actually it's "So lay down". And later it's "When his sight goes red again", not light. So the song is about anger management, not pushing the tree too hard, oh well. But the band IS named after a hot rod.

My hobby is needing a hobby.

                I have similar problems.
I confuse dance music meant to arouse sex as a steam locomotive etc...
                it must be age.

                  • you know.. this girl was singing this 25 years ago.
it is still the slowest modern female voice and song ever since.

I still picture this one as heavy metal.. like a soldier describing a close combat fight.. where they both are mortally wounded.
or even mercy to a machine or weapon

but that is just me I guess.

here is a guy singing it. Sounds irish.
this is closer to the way I picture it
                    just way louder into progressive..

                    maybe I'll find a cover.

"til my hand shook to the weight of fear"
awesome , he used his own words there

                          • I am obsessed with this tune.
                            it doesn't happen often.

I even leave it looping for hours.
