    Handburger

Am I the only one whose hands get turned into ground round when working inside doors? I thought of posting pics but it's too gross - really.

Anyhow, I'm finally installing the CORRECT driver's door on truck. Dan's lesson for the day - the 1998(?) thru early 2002 Dodge trucks came in a 2 door and what they called a 4 door, which had a small rear door on each side. The 2 door doors WILL bolt onto the 4 door body and will even close and latch. They just don't fit as the rear of the door is just different enough to prevent them from interchanging. I have a lovely black 2 door door and have just installed a lovely black 4 door door.

Anyhow, the "new" (and correct) door was all manual and Truck is all electric, windows, locks, etc. So my neighbor and I swapped the door today and I spent the afternoon swapping all the guts over, hence the handburger.

You are not alone at all, I have never worked inside a door that I wasn't bleeding by the time I was done. I've never found a door that didn't bite

The one on my right thumb from a couple of days ago is pretty much just a line now (I'm lucky that I heal pretty quickly) and the one on the back of my left hand is really disgusting. The one up my left arm looks like Frankenstein's Monster's neck but smaller. No really, too gross to post.

                OK PDub -
Like I said, they're nastier than they look. They both bled like the proverbial stuck pig. And there are plenty of others on my digits, arms, etc.

These are pretty minor compared to some of the BIG owies I've had over the years. The reason I even posted this is because I've learned, after 60some years of doing this, how to keep my paws out of the really dangerous places. But inside doors - seems to be no chance of staying intact. Might be better if they didn't have Gillette sharpening all the edges of the sheet metal.

Special knife edge tooling for the door pressings. My Dakota has cut me pretty bad, especially the heat shields...
I got bopped on the face with a 5/8" wrench last night while replacing the motor mount on the Jensen... Nice fat lip but my teeth should be fine. Im still learning... Pee wee wants pics? How about working on your car with your watch on? Branded...

No watch, no wedding ring. I told #2 and ME both that there would be no wedding ring and I told them why. Both were OK with it. Sorry for the brand, BK - that REALLY hurts! I have some burn scars above my gloves, especially on my left arm as it gets to hold stuff while the right hand is running the MIG torch.

Dan, any injury is a bad one. I've got a scar on my right hand where I was taking a rotisserie cage off of the grill, putting it onto a carrying pan, all was well. Picked up the pan un-level, cage rolled onto my hand....lemme tell ya, it's weird watching your skin peel and shrink up. That's just an odd sight, especially when it's YOUR skin. Skin doesn't like severe heat. Doesn't smell real good either when it's burning. Did I need gloves to do that task? Yep. Did I think of that? Nope.

Glad you're relatively okay, and will live to strive for another day!
