Check this out. Vortech Superchargers is about to release a new kit for the SRT-8 6.1L Hemis using tuning by Diablosport. Landmark Dodge in Georgia has a division called Speedfactory that is installing the blowers and selling them off the showroom floor, and they are even available with a factory drivetrain warranty! Shades of Mr. Norm, etc. At 5.5 intercooled psi (tuned to conserve the bottom end), the flywheel horsepower is estimated at 540 with 500 lb-ft, up from 425/420 stock. The blower is a new self-contained V-3. The Vortech guys tell us this 4,200-pounder has run mid 12s.
This car also has a prototype exhaust system from JBA (see the rubber-splattered tips below).
Also check out the odd super-metallic black paint in the photo of the "supercharged" badge.
We'll get more time with this thing for a video in coming weeks, but I though you'd dig the sneak peak. They already have orders stacked up for modified Challengers, so let's hope the gas prices do not kill the new wave of factory performance.
