  • If you HAD to buy an import....

If you had to buy an import for your next car, what would it be.

Here's the catch, you cannot replace the engine with an american engine. It must have the same engine the car came with. You can modify it, but the block must remain stock.

It does not have to be a new car.

Also, this is not a supercar type thread. Im not talking Ferrari's here. Let put a cap at $30,000.

    What's it going to be?

I'll take a VW Golf GTI (the mid-80s model), a Land Rover Defender, or a Mazda RX-7

New- Either a Volkswagen R32 or Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GSR
Used- '77 Porsche 911, a NICE one! Someone's low mile "Baby"
All 3 about 30k to buy which is what I could realistically afford.
Just groovin' to my own tune.

I'm having scary flashbacks of riding home from school in my friend's Corolla. a 73, I think. He drove like a maniac and the seat belts didn't work.

I had a Silver version of that Accord. Just get the 5 speed and skip the manual shifted 2 spd auto.

              I want a Dune Buggy

Or a Renault T5 Turbo. I've seen one of these run in person. Wow.
