  • Welding Aluminum with heat

    Anyone ever use this:

They sell this as an aluminum welding rod that just uses a torch. I have never seen it before. I was wondering about using it to weld EFI and N20 bungs in to a manifold. Thoughts?
Why think when you can be doing something fruitful?

I'd try it. Fuel is not like a 100o foot pound clutch bellhousing welded aluminum.. interesting stuff.

I've seen it demonstrated at the March Meet and looked interesting. I thought it would be good for welding in EFI bungs as well. I haven't tried it though.

Super-clean metal is the key to this system. It even matters as to what wire brush you use.....don't use the same one on aluminum that you use on mild steel, etc.

stainless brush for aluminum only, clean parts, they sell aluminum "brazing" rod at HF... might be worth a try.

Its brazing rod, its been done for years. I think its too bad that they are trying to market it as welding.

I expect that brazing would be more than sufficent for injector bungs.
              I'm still learning
