it is worth it. the hundred years you may be digging up now.. says it all. I am in a place here local, all over 100 years. Turned family homes into room rental tortures, plastic stalls, bouncing elbows into generation bigger than the starvation that built the big house in the first place.

yes. Reglaze the old tiles. They were thinking of us.

I used to sell all my scrap clawfoot tubs to a reglazer.. They did beautiful work..
It is like powder coating and painters.. Who does it and how good are they..
I remember they were not cheap, but if you have a tub you love.. Might be worth it..
Not sure if you can still buy metal tubs.. The plastic ones flex too much for my liking with my weight..

I had a reglazing process done on an old green iron / porcelain tub - it lasted a year or two, then I ended up tearing it out and taking the bathroom down to the studs and starting over.

it really really depends on who does it and what product they use.

Another option is the "bath fitter" deal where they put a new liner over the existing fixture - never had it done but it seems like a better solution for a quick remodel.
There's always something new to learn.

Slippery slope for me. I only have ONE bathroom in my home. So, besides the mess of a remodel, there's too much "down" time

Reglazed or regrouted? The reason I asked is because I don't recall anyone getting tiles reglazed like a bathtub.

If you mean regrouting the tiles, that's not hard. I just retitled and regrouted my master half bath.

We had ours done a couple of years ago. Seems ok so far. This was spray-on stuff and the dude ended up with a couple of runs in non-noticeable places though.

I hope it lasts. New shower doors this weekend. Last owner was a Raider's fan, but the colors in the bathroom? Yuck.

I've done it to 4 of the tub/shower surrounds in our apartments. You can get the epoxy paint from an automotive or industrial type paint store. Last stuff I used was a 2 part and cleaned up with water, just flipped that apartment and it's looking great, so the durability is there. I use a Pressure Pot gun from Harbor Freight, the rest is like painting a car, which I'm sure you know how to do.....

This is the gun I use.

Amazing deals on this 64Oz Air Spray Gun Kit at Harbor Freight. Quality tools & low prices.
