  • Chrome or black.

Finally got everything put back together. Still need to do a little tuning.
    I started out with this:

After a cam/piston and color change with the chrome air cleaner and breather:

I kinda like the black air cleaner lid and breather. Goes with the black anodized billet pulleys. But the chrome adds a little old school. The indoor shot makes it a little difficult to see the diff between black and chrome.

Just curious what everyone else thinks?

I like the orange valve covers and the chrome air cleaner better, looks "Classic".
Just groovin' to my own tune.

So is it driveable yet. If so you need to bring it over Wednesday night for hot rod night, bring both breathers and we can discuss it.............lol

Even if you don't get it tuned you are still welcome to come check out the shop and the other hot rods. There are normally about 15 to 20 cars, but I am trying to change that.......lol It is on Gasoline Alley, shouldn't be hard to get 50 to 100 cars on a Wednesday night.........lol

                    Re: Chrome or black.

Generally i prefur chrome over black when its on a car. But the air cleaner should really be chrome IMHO

                      Re: Chrome or black.

The chrome looks better with the orange, but the black air cleaner in the bottom pic on the black motor in the top pic would be my favorite.

I like the chrome too, but black would be "correct" if you fitted the cowl induction base & seal (which I would recomend from performance standpoint at least).

                            Re: Chrome or black.

I'm not a fan of lots of chrome, but in this case I think the chrome air cleaner looks much better. Especially with the orange valve covers.
