Wonder how hard this would be to title and skid/crate-up?

I've found a plethora of them locally. 98% of them are total rust buckets (and I'm not that scared of rust) PLUS nobody could be bothered to keep/transfer/duplicate titles for the last several owners.

That red one that Tardis found - I probably should have bought, but I shied away from it because it had a CJ7 title.

I've worked some miracles cleaning up titles in the past......just doesn't hold any appeal to me anymore. Getting picky in my old age I guess.

And never ever feel guilty for accepting someone's offer. Ever. They were likely (in their opinion) lowballing you.

The $500 crate & transport is probably pretty close.

Oh, and I already have 2 'glass CJ7s....just looking for a shell for a project idea I can't shake.....yeah, it involves a Cad drivetrain.

$200 you say? How are you with a big skid and a hammer?

I'm pretty good with a big skid, if I had one. I do have a hammer. But I'm much better at letting folks haul stuff away themselves.

I think Squirrel is saying for the price, you dig it out of the hole it's in... Whatever kind of hole it may be...

Maybe you can get him to pull the "Suburban" trick on it...
More work he do, more money you do..
Untill he falls in love with it and keeps it... That's the pitfall...

Yeah, but where's the profit potential in that?

Man, if you weren't like 20+ hours away....and then there's the return trip time....grrr...

Here in Alabama, all you'd need is a serial number, and a bill of sell. Anything older than 30 years requires no title.

3 day weekend.. Drive down, crash a few hours, load up, haul A back, crash and go to work!
2drivers switching off is very doable...

Yeah buying my Firebird from Alabama was a bit nerve racking when I found that out. Didn't help my nerves that the bill of sale wasn't from the same name as the last guy to register the car. Fortunately I have a good small town DMV and the girls behind the counter were actually interested in helping me out to get a title. The procedure here was they ran the vin into some kind of stolen car database and the Alabama DMV database. The last registered person in Alabama was a different name than what was on my bill of sale. Fortunately it was all legit and the guy I bought it from was able to mail me a second bill of sale with the last registered owner's name on it. The Nevada title with my name on it showed up in the mail about a month after I started the process and I breathed a sigh of relief and started doing stuff to the car.
