At both of the two BS gatherings I was involved in (at Mike Copeland's shop in MI, and at our house in TN), I fielded the same question more than once each time - "Where are the Admins?"

All I could say is I have no idea. And they never posted on the threads about it, as the questioners said.

I have a theory, Brian and Chad have much bigger fish to fry than a party, even if it's BS-themed.

But the BangShift Nationals...now we're talking. I do believe by the event title alone, they'll be pressed to be there and call the race and cover it....hmmmmmm

    This could get big.

Don't worry. I've done it with a similar car.

The snobs (mostly old Chevy drivers) will hate your "storebought" car . . . and if you're trying to put down any power through the flabby rubber bushings on the factory three-link, you'll enjoy some violent "wheel hop." And in the end, some arrogant punk with hundreds of runs under his belt, claiming to have a $200 "miracle" LS will nip you in the lights. And they'll still hate your "storebought" car . . . .

But in the literally hours you'll be waiting in the staging lanes for those few brief seconds of run time, you'll probably meet some nice people, too.

In the land speed thing, that was really sure nuff the best part of it, the human experience. Gosh such fun people to meet. The one time it wasn't too cold to get out of the car.

That's why I went back with the Fusion (a joke). To mingle with the people, that was so cool. The Porsche guys....just too cool. Fun fun fun. A tremendous pleasure "waiting" in line to go again for nothing gained (the going).

          a thought:
a bangshift nationals would be a poor mans version of SEMA show, exactly as diverse.

did you see the hot rod show for today? finnegan called a focus rally car a hot rod. Understandable.

If it's going to be a Bangshift hosted event, I'm fairly certain Chad and Brian will be in attendance.

Given their busy schedule during the season... it would be unrealistic for them to attend the many
            informal gatherings.
Only so many hours in the day.........I've witnessed them in action and they are some busy fellows.

I can vouch for Kearney's track. It cost $25 to run during a division 5 points race. 1/4 mile track too. Nice little facility. Kearney has a ton of hotels for such a small town. In June, they have Cruise Night, which is more like Cruise Nights, lasting all weekend.

From the website: There really isn't very much to see or do at the Geographical Center of the United States, but if you are passing through the area on US highways 36 or 281, it is worth driving the short distance from Lebanon.

I would vote for Great Bend, or Heartland Park. Close to the center of the U.S.

Ok, looks like a lot of interest in this and Brian is in favor, but sounds like he and Chad don't have the time to organize this. So who is willing to step up to the plate and make this happen and who is willing to help. If it's going to happen then we need to organize.

the '14 power tour ends on a Friday.. never been so is the longhauler deal the same day . if so.. I'd think even just meeting at a local strip for a b/s member grudge race/get together would be easier the first time , or a sat. meet/bbg type deal.. or if they have to head home, the start is on a sat.. a Friday night party before the p/t might be another idea.. or a stop that's as close to center of the usa, and a bbg night at that stop "area" . to pull off a "by it self" deal with member all over the map. might be a tall order.. remember most already have next years vaca's planned out.. no matter how busy b&c are they'd need to be part of it.. maybe not the planning.. but it need to not interfear with something that are planning on covering..

I agree Dave, possible first step is to get quotes from the various tracks and possible days/weekends they are available. That way we know what we are getting as far as money and dates.

Long Hauler's ceremony is on Saturday morning.
PT14 starts on Saturday in Concord NC and ends in Wisconsin Dells - neither of which are very close to the middle of the country.

wtf does PT have to do with this, does it go on all year? Just curious... or are you guys talking about a week long event? I would figure on a weekend deal, take a Friday or a Monday off or both if you can, but the main event would be a Saturday.. or did I miss it?

I'm laboring under the pretense that the 1) track location and 2) availability would be critical. Core even. Kansas is a pretty good drive for me with 4.00 premium, but I know it's a lot longer for some folks. I'd do it...

oh -- if we can agree on a location / area and timeframe, I can call tracks and check rental costs and or group rates.

considerations for number of people committing and available lodging, track availability and costs, would an 1/8 mile track work, camping at the track, circus tent, food, facilities, bribing the local cops, what am I missing?
