same here. I moved on becuase of a state trooper.

            the guy in vid,
he is a vision of a cop to most.
            the facts are just hid
he could be a heartfelt host.

my mom had two sisters and a brother. The father was gone, new life. This was late 1950s. Her mother died right in the house where they were living.

A cop took my mom in. All the siblings got to see each other. That dig, missing parent, then parents, that young...it took years off. Starvation, stubborn pride.

the oldest sibling, an uncle made it to the 50s, my mom died at 39, an aunt just as young.

one aunt left, and she was the eldest.

if someone knows you are good, it goes a long way. never forgotten.

I'm proud of that, actually. True or false, the story is an excellent reminder that many times it's the little things that can make so much of a difference in someone else's life - kind word, a bit of honest praise, or even choosing to be quiet and listen....

ME watched it and ended up with wet eyes, too. Her comment - "It mattered to THAT starfish".

                    Absolutely, and so well said.

I had a Mister Destiny moment (that old B-movie I love to love). Strange this thread is up, because I thought about that for no reason while driving home from work yesterday, hadn't thought about it in many years.

My oh my, how my life would have turned out diametrically different if my best friend hadn't done what he did for me right then, that moment. He even offered to do it and I said okay.

It was a matter of seconds. He kept me from getting arrested. I was 16.
