  • On their Facebook page, Hot Rod Pin Ups. There are like six good pin-up pages you can like on FB, not all with cars though. ME loves some pin-up chickies!!!!

                                Gassers were basically the predecessors to the funny cars. They started sprouting up in the early Sixties I think. General idea was to lighten the front end as much as possible and raise it, even setting the engine back further on the chassis sometimes. When the car launched this helped transfer more weight to the rear tires for better traction with the rock hard bias ply tires of the time. Moving the rear axle forward on the chassis (altered wheelbase) was another way of helping weight transfer. Go to Google images and punch in "gasser cars" or "A/FX" to get a good idea of what you're looking for then check out some of the sites you find.
