  • Cadillac Has Changed its Logo (again)

Troubling news for OG "gangstas" who just got a new Cadillac tat . . . .

    http://autos.yahoo.com/news/cadillac...222200416.html

Some overpaid Ivy-league brand marketing managers have now ensured themselves another decade of six-figure-a-year checks . . .

Is the 2014 crest, Caddy's version of "Fat Elvis?"

It was a LAUREL WREATH! . . . a traditional symbol of victory since the days of the ancient Greeks! (3rd or 4th century B.C.)

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laurel_wreath

There was nothing even remotely "Muslim" about it. (Muhammad -- Anno Domini 570 to 632 . . . centuries AFTER the Greeks)

Moreover, the "crescent" some associate with Islam is actually a pre-Islamic regional symbol most likely derivative of the Mesopotamian Moon gods Nanna in Sumer and Sin in Babylonia . . . almost three millennia before the birth of Islam. It looks like a waxing moon much more than a laurel wreath.

Is Chris Christie still blocking traffic at the local smorgasbord? Have any 2014 GM pickups burst into flames lately? Are Snooki and Jwoww knocked up again?

Merlettes died with the Catera. Some say Duck Commander Phil Robertson shot 'em . . . .

Caddy modified their hood ornament. OMG, the horror. BTW, none of those match the ones on my parents '80 Eldo and '79 Fleetwood. It was a colored version of the '64 with laurel wreaths. Only the cheap DeVilles got just the crest.

Yes, let's dumb down everything in our culture because some illiterate dorks (present company excepted, of course) are so blissfully ignorant and self-absorbed that they cannot be bothered with anything that happened before they were born.

We've apparently turned into a nation of drunken Snookis and Jwowws . . . .

On the other hand, perhaps that says a lot about the quality of the "up" at the typical Cadillac store . . . .
