There was nothing even remotely "Muslim" about it. (Muhammad -- Anno Domini 570 to 632 . . . centuries AFTER the Greeks)
Moreover, the "crescent" some associate with Islam is actually a pre-Islamic regional symbol most likely derivative of the Mesopotamian Moon gods Nanna in Sumer and Sin in Babylonia . . . almost three millennia before the birth of Islam. It looks like a waxing moon much more than a laurel wreath.
(Is fundamental civics/history/cultural education really in that poor of a state in America today?)

Caddy modified their hood ornament. OMG, the horror. BTW, none of those match the ones on my parents '80 Eldo and '79 Fleetwood. It was a colored version of the '64 with laurel wreaths. Only the cheap DeVilles got just the crest.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver
