  • Please Explain Global Warming

Maybe I've already said my piece here against tree huggers and such. All the stuff where we as humans are destroying the environment and such.

I can't tie that into...two weeks ago from Tuesday, when I cranked Bubba the Truck to go to work, the ambient outdoor temperature outside was 1. One degree F. In southeastern Tennessee. Not Minnesota, not Alaska.

Right now it's 14, headed for some kind of nothing before morning. It's lots worse (lower) everywhere else north and east of here.

Who can explain global warming? I mean really. What's so "warm" about this?

Wind was sure blowing cold like the witch of November! But I was sorta sheltered and working so was sweaty.. Once the sun started to hide I gol durnt froze!

its just a weeble wobble. Coincides with history written..
this cycle now is quite old, kinda fun.

as long as acold hole to space opens, asias butt, I mean manufacture can poop its way out. Global warming will seem to pause.

North can taste smeel and feel what does not go away.. grotesques sometimes. Metallic smells, polymers.

maine gets it bad. if science proves the warming stuff, targets can be made.

Glaciers started retreating 12,000 years before today and will continue to do so for around another 8,000 years, then they will start marching back down from the north as it cools off, scraping the Earth clear of trees, buildings, etc. But we shouldn't have much to worry about then as mass famine will likely have done it's job when the cooling causes mass crop failures and starves the 210 billion folks on the planet at that time.
          Escaped on a technicality.

-8 this A.M. when I got to the shop...

oil burner was working at 10 pm last night when I went to check on it... but it had apparently stopped working shortly after, because my shop was frozen, yet again.

            awesome.

While I'm freezing my ass off South America is having a record heat wave, both suck for those involved.

Today at work...a bark pusher caught on fire, behind the garage. I didn't go back there to see it, was listening to it all on the mill radio.

A pusher is an awesome piece of moving machinery. A four-wheeled thing, a bulldozer with wheels. The tires are about 6 feet tall.

The first call came in - fire fire fire.

A mad scramble. The thing was fully engulfed before anybody on the fire team even got there.

It was burning 20 feet away from a big fixed propane tank. All of the hydrants and hoses were frozen. They couldn't get any water on it.

They all saved the day in the end. Like rescue folks do. Under control. Somehow. Always, somehow.

Cold affects more than just our skin.

It's supposed to be really nice Saturday and Sunday before the temps bottom out again Monday. Just in time to freeze half-to-death at work again.

In a nut shell global warming was created, to create jobs, and funnel billions of dollars of tax payer money into corporations so politicians can get their hands on it. The idea that human activity on this planet can effect the climate is purely laughable. We as a species are to dumb to even comprehend the laws of nature, none the less predict the weather.

Now think about this, after major volcanic eruptions the average temperture of the earth will drop a degree due to the ash that is thrown up into the atmosphere, so you ever think our campaign to have cleaner air might just be the cause of the global warming, by taking particulates out of the air and allowing more of the suns energy to penetrate our atmosphere.

I don't think the equator region of the world will ever freeze over. I'd be more worried about crustrial displacement, if the northern polar caps become heavier than the southern polar caps it's possible for the earth to become top heavy and the earths crust will actually shift on its liquid core. There is some evidence to this in ancient maps that have anartictica mapped outside the arctic circle with forests, mountains and streams.

Sorry to break it to you guys, but it's real. 99% of all scientists agree. Don't dismiss it just because you're freezing your ass off during winter. The average (read: year round) temps have been on a steady rise above historical norms since the industrial revolution (although, there may be a causation/correlation issue in question). This causes the continental weather patterns to shift creating extremely cold winters and extremely hot summers. That's why 6 months from now, you guys will all be complaining about being too damn hot. The biggest debate is whether or not this change of weather patterns is anthropomorphic (man made) or caused by natural sun patterns, volcanic activity or a mixture of all. And, will any amount of effort we put in to being 'green' stop the Earth and Universe for doing what it damn well pleases anyway?
