dredging up an old thread. My brother knows the guy who bought it last year...and it popped up for sale again, so I guess I have to go buy it.

Joe's pictures are gone, so here's a link to an article about it. I've seen the car several times at area car shows, over the decades.

and a picture of it this week, on the west side of Tucson, from craigslist (he took the ad down already, after talking to me)

Can't tell if bad love child of CitiCar with a Fiat x/19 , TR7, or maybe prototype Fiero since it could be a Fiero's dad. My first thought was it was electric...but a midship mounted Buick v8? Oooof. I'm thinking it will be a hoot to drive around for a bit. The blue on the side looks like a Stealth Fighter profile - how many dreams did this thing corrupt?

built in 1977...that was the year the Star Wars movie was released! so the styling is definitely period correct. It'll be interesting, that's for sure. The heat issue will be fun to deal with.

Which engine? I'm thinking a 215 but that is, of course, a guess.

yup, sure looks like a Buick 215. I'll see if I can get the title stuff done tomorrow, and actually buy it, and take it home. More pictures to come.

I took it on a too-long test drive today. It got pretty warm, not quite overheated, but close. It has a couple electric fans, they are not working, and access to the wires is impossible without some more time/equipment than I had available. But it was over 100 degrees out....

Also the transmission didn't shift, perhaps the really old vacuum modulator is bad?

TDwillard - This car was hand made by a former General Motors employee using many old GM parts so it is no particular make.

I love it. Only you could pull this off Squirrel. Anybody else would have caught 3 pages of hell by now...

Do the headlights count for 5 mph post 1974 bumpers?

The headlights count for ugly, so they fit the theme of the car very well. No bumpers...there is some steel behind the sheet metal, around the edges, though.
