  • Will she be more than a back marker today?

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Jamie Dodge is a 64-year-old die-hard Danica Patrick fan who made the trek from Huntington Beach, Calif., to watch her favorite driver in the Daytona 500.

She looked pretty racy in the Dual, even moved from the back toward the front.
She'll lead a lap during pit stop rotations, top 15 most of the day.

Daytona is a pretty unfair yardstick on "driver talent". Witness this guy:

He makes Danica seem a cute, better smelling brand of MACHO. Or this guy:

In the brains category he makes her look like Einstien.

Did anybody else catch what Michael Waltrip said to her on his grid walk?

she said something like "see you out there"
he said "I'm starting way in the back but some say you'll be back there with me soon".

I missed that in reflection of the MW-50 cent liplock headline.

That's because two of her teammates were back there with Waltrip, Stewart and Harvick. Speculation was she would drop back to hang with them.

40th place and involved in a wreck , today she is still just a backmarker.
she might prove one to be wrong about her, she is personable at times and she is out there hanging out with her big girl panties on, but you have to do better than a Phil Parsons type to make it.

I thought she did rather well, just not alot you can do when someone comes down into you then kicks your tail around and steers you into the wall.

she actually led 2 laps by pit stop cycleing.
but thats something to put on a racing resume.
