That is a killer photo, but it was actually taken in England.

Here's the full sequence that we ran on the blog back in December of '10

That was definitely a sphincter puckering moment.

I'm liking this! What size tires are those anyways? Any tub work needed to clear?

                  Looking gnarly, keep us posted.

Yeah, way cool. Are the front tires going to be that big too

Thanks for the encouragement! Sold a box full of my old Telecomm tools to pay for those wheels an tires. They are 295-50-15 on 15x10 rallyeII's with 5.75" backspace, and a 9" narrowed 2 inches.

I originally intended to simply do new rockers and quarter half skins, and then fab up patches for the rest of the rust holes... I am extremely poor so most metal is re-purposed and I can't afford true patch panels... The door bottoms were gone, the inner bracing and bottom of both front fenders were gone, the front body mounts and core support bottom was missing....but the pans were ok. I am almost done with all the rust repair. I collected 150.00 worth of cans and copper these last few weeks and I am going to pick up my new windshield tomorrow morning and then will fix the last of the rust in the dash corners and a spot on the a-pillar....

Once I got the quarter half skins cut off I realized the wheelwell seams were cancer filled.. so ya know how that goes.... Had to take it all apart to fix that, so it got a 2.5" minitub job. oh, and the shock mounts had to go also. I fabbed new mounts on the inside of the frame and welded them into the trunk floor...I thought about starting a thread, but , I wasn't sure if folks would enjoy it?

I wish the front wheels were as big as the rears, no money for new tires I can't even afford mount an balance... And I don't own a spray gun...but I know how to cut and buff! just a hack. Thankyou Rust-O-leum.

                          • I have an extra Devilbiss gravity feed spray gun, and maybe some spare rally's and tires (BFGs) I could donate to your build.

??Really? Thankyou for the offer. That's truly nice of ya. But i just spent this afternoon trying to reface the brushes in the motor for my 40 yr old air compressor. to no avail. its toast. they are too short, wore out and no replacement parts are available...so i'm gonna hunt a new motor. Maybe I'll take ya up on that after I have something to hook that gun to!! Seriously, offering to help someone ya don't know.....that's awfully nice of you to make that offer...made my day.
