this one is 3 miles in
in the road..
about 10 miles in
it is not common to find hardwood groves in this area.
most beautiful place I have found.. I am a southern new england kinda guy.
I hate pine trees with a passion.
I found an old map with "town road" on it..
this should have been part of it.
I ponder history was altered like bangor maine.
towns in wrong spots, and named incorrectly.
the town I am in has the cemetery as the best piece of land.
must have been the religion of a long boat ride .. town founders. 1820 had no machines yet.
just bizarre. then learning of the moguls with no clue but money.. locking reality down for nothing.
At least this tract does not get raped with chainsaws.
I could live out here forever.
beech and birch, etc..
I found this place when I was 16 or so...in the autumn on an ATV.
1988.
even the damp was overruled in the colors and sun.
the scents..
most amazing thing I had ever seen...and it was dead silent.
what really startled me was my complaints of pine trees.. I was a teen only in maine 1 year.
I come around a few bends to find this as miles long..simply wandering aimlessly.
blew my mind.
12miles on an atv out here seemed a billion acres of dreams.
4 hours in the truck.
I don't believe in ghosts..
that same evening, I awoke with the scent of this place. I knew I was home.
and there was war...and this was before gulf 1. Before a hint of it.
I was 16 and this was very old.
and there was this woman I had never seen in real life..
to this day...as if she knew me.
unusual with dark eyes, queenly serious and blond hair of multiple shades, and dark eyebrows..
tall for a lady.
My grandma deciphered "dutch". They ran if peace was hopeless.
stories untold? I think so.
