    • So, over the weekend my buddy came back from Japan, so him and a small group decided to go to [REDACTED] convention up in San Francisco, a decent sized road trip from San Diego. Had a CB and had fun talking to truckers and figuring out some traffic issues. So a friend of his was storing his cars while he was away, and we brought his 1978 Lincoln Town car back down from the town of Vacaville. Was supposed to get back to San Diego around midnight, and sicne I had duty that Tuesday, I had to be at work at 0630. About an hour into the trip back the car kept stalling, which he initially thought was vapor lock, but I noticed the electric fuel pump was the same height as the carb, so after a bunch of zip ties and getting covered in tons of gasoline, I moved the fuel pump a lot lower and we had zero issues the rest of the way. Ended up getting back to SD at like, 0430, so I was able to get an hour nap before work. Overall, fun trip, and I love doing road trips with old cars, even if they do charge you for gas. Also, the Edsel is also his, and for sale, if anybody wants a rusty floored Edsel with a recently rebuilt 352. Click image for larger version

Rumors of my demise by rollover have been greatly exaggerated.

          • Out for a drive in my GTO Sunday. Been by this barn hundreds of times and never looked in it, well I did and something caught my eye. A quick u turn and this is what I spotted. 74 Grand Am ready to fall into its grave.

Nobody was home, going back this weekend, I know they all can't be saved but I'd hate to see this one just fall to its death.

One gasket was blown between cylinders. I haven't looked at the heads to see if one was cracked. It had water in 1-4, 5-8 were dry. Yes it's a Chevy and that numbering doesn't make sense. It's getting an internal diesel soak until some more important projects get squared away.
