  • Does that station wagon have Keystone Klassics on it? They sure look like it, I thought those would rather break than spin.

I'm pretty sure those are Keystones. Unfortunately I have no other info on that particular critter. Didn't know Keystones were prone to breaking. Learn something new every day.

Well, I'll retract my allegation after doing a search. I can't find any reference to them breaking. All I know is that back in the 70's it was, "Hey Look, Rufus got him some Keystones!" The response was always, "Shhhhhh, don't tell him, they break." Maybe that was just street BS.

Ahhhh I think that's it. Maybe it's another lie or something I dreamed up, but I'm trying to remember they came with oval shaped plates that you could turn such a way to match Ford or GM or whatever and the hotrodders avoided them.

I ran Keystones back in the day... I luckily never had one fail... Cragar S/S however cost a life or two though...

Desperate to dry bedding at the cabin 400 miles from home, only to find that the dryer had the wrong cord. Any port in a storm, and it was removed an hour later and replaced the next time up.

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.
