I'm supposed to go look at a 73 Mav tomorrow with a friend that he is interested in buying. Is there any problem areas that I need to look out for with these Ford unibody cars?

Re: 73 Maverick problem areas.
Unfortunately that was the era of the really bad sheet metal for Ford, those Mavericks could get very rusty. As mentioned, same trouble areas as a Mustang, check the cowl area thoroughly.
My grandfather bought one brand new in 1972. Within about 3 years, the front fenders were just about ready to fall off from the rust. :o

Re: 73 Maverick problem areas.
My Dad had a '73. Just thoroughly check for rot all around the bottom of the car. One of my earliest memories (around 4 or 5, 1979 or 1980) was my Dad cutting out the bottom 6" of metal between the door jam and the rear wheel opening to replace it since most of it disappeared.sigpic
