OK, with some Sherlock H.-style investigating I've found that the smilies reside(d) on this Puppygrinder.com-domain/server. Mostlikely something has changed or someone has cleaned up that server and (re)moved the smilies from it.

I'm not the only one missing them am I ? <- This is one of my own 'imported' smilies by the way.

Nope - I'm having that same issue. The row of smilies is now a row of boxes with "?" in them, and the same thing shows up in postings in place of what I believe to be smilies. Maybe an exorcism is in order?
