I have been helping a friend with his 34 ford the last weeks.it has been off the road for 50 years. It was found in a field in the late seventies, and in 86 my friend got it.
The floor were gone and inner wheel wells too.The roof was barely holding together.Lots of plans, but it kept being pushed around and just small things being done.Kids and house and family was first priority.
3 years back the body were sent to a known professional body firm here in Norway, and the roof were fixed by welding another roof butt to butt.
New floor were fabricated and lots of work were done.
And then we thougt he would gettin it out on the road, but no...
Now there were some joking about it wouldnt get fixed, and a lot of the rod friends would share some hours just to see it up and runnin..
But no...The owner had other plans.
So a year ago a Rod and Custom meet were planned to the weekend that starts tomorrow. And a lot of jokes have been made about the 34 that the owner had lost interest too..hehe.
3 weeks ago the owner told me that he had plans for the car to be ready for the meeting, and we have kept it kind of secret for our rod friends..
Tomorrow we will attend the Rod meeting..it will be fun to watch the faces to some..
400 sbc with th350 and plymouth Duster rear.Volvo trailering arms rear, and of course some work needed still, but its runnin.
