  • '69 Satelite: How would you build it?

Dulcich came and picked up his new '72 Charger and dropped off my 69 Satellite that had been at his place for 5 years. Photo attached.

The car is freshly painted in factory green (F4?) with the entire top of the car blacked-out. It's minitubbed and has a legal rollbar in it. I have all the parts to put the interior back together. What's wide open at this point is how the car will look when done and what its purpose will be. I could even put any engine in it.

Vote above to help decide, please.

With that body style, I would probably go with the stock car influence. But i vote for doing something with this car that isn't being done with any of the others.

    You have:
-LS motored truck (modern engine in something old)
-Crusher (sort of retro styled street car)
-Super Bee ( All out Hemi car, new school drag influence)
-F- Bomb ( Completely high tech)
-Land speed Camaro (land speed style of course)

If it were me.... I really am digging the F.A.S.T. drags series. Maybe not so extremely stock though. Headers, single plane intake, stock valve covers, iron heads, 8-10 in tire. Painted steelies to match car or some Rallyes. Something that looks like a relatively stock musclecar but blows your doors off if underestimated. I've said before and I'll say it again... I'm a sucker for a well done sleeper.

But, out of your choices I would go with the stock car influence for something a little different. Maybe do the Nevada race in the desert at speeds over 140.

I kind of like the street sleeper. The shock, and puzzlement on their face's.

                    I voted for the '70's build(w/the 383 combo...). I say,"Go ahead-n-build it",after all you DID run a picture in the back of Hot-Rod once(I forget which issue..)showing the 'Street-Freak' R. Runner(which by chance also happens to be a '69 ;)...),plus you've already got the Hippie/Jesus Sandles,so I'd say you're pretty close ;D. Even YOU got to admit,you've never had a '70's Freak Car,before,so I'd say go for it ! ~OO6.

                      Freiburger...hippie....HE HE.

Ever see that episode of South Park where Cartman kills all the hippies that are taking over the town? I'm reasonably certain that's Dave's favorite.

He wears the sandals but it pretty much stops there as far as the hippie vibe goes.

My problem with the NASCAR style is that it requires hacking fenders and quarters to do it right.
