How not to drag race

I mentioned in a response to one of the news items recently that Mike Waltrip crashed his Sprint Cup car while drag racing Ron Capps down at the new Charlotte track. The link to the video is below. They were filming NAPA commericals on the day this happened.

In his defense the track was completely green, it was a cold day and if you watch Capps in the dragster, it was VERY slick out there.

That being said, this is pretty hilarious.

Oh yeah, Ron Capps really is that wee. A great guy, an awesome drag racer, but no future in the NBA. Hot Rod Fuller makes Capps look tall BTW.

Did Waltrip forget to do a burnout to get those tires nice and sticky? Not that it would matter considering they run two different compounds from right to left.

They did afterwards and Capps went 10.60's in the stock car.

He didn't drive the dragster, hence the reason you never saw an obituary on the CJTV news scroll...HA!
