Lots of bad info on the other post so thought I'd clarify:
1) They crush your car:
Well, in some cities they do that, not all, but some. If you are in an "unincorporated area" then the law would usually not pertain to you. If you are in a city that didn't pass the law, then it wouldn't happen to you. You can be in Los Angeles county for example, but be in a separate city that didn't pass that law.
2) There aren't any fast cars racing in SoCal, and if they are, it's only 2 times per year:
There are many fast cars that race a lot more often than that. Follow these links...
