Re: Ok, how did the weekend fare for you?

I went to an RV Show. Spent time at Lake Tahoe eating a Chilli Burger, and Drinking Wine with a few Friends. Later we went to the Car Show at the Casino and Drank a few more. Rough Weekend I guess. Now we are on call until our Parts come in to finish the last few Aircraft.

Saturday, threw a bachelor party for Screaming Detroit. Started at 2 pm, got home at 3am, with only minor injuries, but had lots of fun.

Sunday, recovered, then went and picked up a 350 SBC that I found on Craigslist. Good deal, a '72 engine, 4bbl, complete carb to pan, flex plate to cooling fan, with a new carb, new HEI dist, new fuel pump, all the pulleys and brackets, clean inside, with 70k on it. $200 Going to degrease it, put some new gaskets in it with a timing chain, an RV cam, a fresh coat of paint and drop it in the '70 GMC.

Joe, I think that looks like a '67 Dodge Coronet 500 with the 318ci small block ..

Yes, yes it is :D....and I want it!..... with my engine.....and lowered a bit ;).....have always liked the Coronet....and I bet that on is much more solid than my Fury and I would also wager that the aftermarket is far more kind to a coronet than it is the C-body Fury

Warm..That would've been nice since it was 47 degrees out when I arrived there at six am. I was freezing in my sweatshirt. The Santa Ana wind's are bringing usually cold weather instead of normal scorching heat this time of year

Re: Ok, how did the weekend fare for you?

I spent the weekend checking in on the Memphis trip....but also Saturday I spent the day at the park in town here, we put on our 21st annual Cars in the Park show. Weather was not very cooperative, it was ok Friday, very cloudy with intermittent rain Saturday during the show, then Sunday it was sunny and cool all day (when nothing was going on).

We had 341 cars signed up for the show, I think there were about 100 no-shows because of the weather. Still, we had fun, and a local guy who recently bought a trailer dyno got to run it most of the day! I didn't get a chance to put my car on, I was kind of busy and then when I had some time he already had several cars lined up. Highest power recorded was a pumped up dodge diesel that made just under 500 hp and just under 1000 ft lbs, and I heard he broke something in the transmission doing it.

It was pretty decent. When I left at 8:45 am to get more sleep; there were more cars rolling into the corral five at a time. The number of sellers was off by a tiny bit, but it didn't seem very crowded with buyers. Although Long Beach is always less crowded and smaller than Pomona's.

That's because where they originate (not far from here) hadn't gotten above 32*F in a couple days. Looks like today we are sitting at 35*F so far =D but still burrrr..... I opted to not ride my motorcycle to work on Friday or Saturday, as both days were around 18*F going to work. I'm off work until Sunday, whoo hoo.

Pics from the Olympic Nat'l Forest run...ran 12 hrs, including one 130-mph blast, several wide-open runs, and a good canyon-carver route (North to West 101 in WA State). Ended up in Sequim, quit there, bought four pumpkins at a patch off of (I'm not kidding) "Kitchen-Dick RD"...
