It's always standard equipment in all my vehicles. ABC and the size varies. I have had to use it once in my '55. Power steering hose split and naturally the hot headers were in the way. ;D

I carry one in one of the cars...it usually rides in the nova (most likely burner) but I carry it on road trips.

you never know when someone else might need it.

I carry a small chrome one with a mooneyes cast aluminum mount on the trans hump in the coupe. I've never had to use one on my stuff (thankfully) but remember you could save someone elses ride or life if you keep one handy.

One inside the car, located within arms reach of drivers seat. I don't even have to stop or unbuckle my seatbelt to start taking care of a possible problem. I've had my fuse box start on fire with two foot flames while driving 50 MPH down a main drag. I was able to put it out with bottled water that was sitting on the seat right next to me.

I also carry a slightly larger one in the trunk as backup. If you've ever lost a car to a fire you'd due the same.

                Fire Sucks!

                At least have a portable.
If not upgrade to a 5# or 10# system.
