Yeehaw, now Corvette is coming to the party to play. Check out the photo 1 post above. The front camber is noticeable. It is at least 1 deg, maybe a bit more. That is rather aggressive for a factory alignment.

I am curious as to what the statistics are-- how many new Vette owners pay cash, and how many finance? How many ZR1's will come with a payment book? $100k for 72 months is $1388 a month less interest. There are certainly people with that kind of cash flow, how many of them are insane enough to do it?

Remember, people that buy a car (or truck) of that type...usually lease it, then purchase the vehicle at lease termination for an agreed price...which is financed.

That way, they can have a tax deduction (most owners of this type car own a business or two, or ten), and THEN have a minor, personal payment AFTER the depreciation is eaten by the "company" and saved them 35% of the cost of the payments on "personal" taxes....or just write a check for the buy-out price. If someone is really interested in owning a car like this, usually they have a business manager/accountant that gives them the best scenario for ownership.

The buyer of this ain't a hot-rodder or speed freak. Its virtually always a business owner (and might be MUCH younger than you think), has a family, and also leases a Cadillac ESV or Escalade, too.

The only time you see a typical "hot-rodder" driving one of these, is for some company he WORKS for, that is doing parts/development/aftermarket/ect, type stuff.

Occasionally....very occasionally, a younger rodder will "go all out" and purchase a car of this type for him/herself....but, its very unlikely.

                            Sounds like I need to get myself a company. ;D ;D ;D

Gold chains and Rolexes aside, I still want one. I wonder the 1/4 time is.

In one of the articles about the car, GM execs reportedly wondered what the ultimate Vette would be. They are saying this is it. Does that mean that no Vette will top this one?

How about dropping that motor in a carbon-fiber bodied HHR delivery? Or one of the CJTV Novas?

Me too. I think the Z06 was 124 in the 1/4 right? I also remember hearing bone stockers were breaking into the 10s..
This would have to be mid 10s aproaching 130 I'm guessing.
