Which could potentially be a disaster, but I digress.
I propose a winter gathering!
I've e-mailed these guys about their race schedule this winter. It's ice racing on a frozen lake in Maine. They plow a 2 mile long road course on the lake and run all kinds of races up there, including 3 hour endurance jobbies. The entry fee is like 30 bucks a guy.
I know there are a couple of us down here in SE Mass that could score a cheap ass beater and prep it for some bonzai action on the lake once or twice this winter. If we can do an endurance race I'm guessing we can swap a few drivers into the car.
Hell, it would be fun to just go up for the weekend, drink beer, freeze our asses off, watch the races, tell each other how much faster we are than the guys running, and bench race.
The lake is 160 miles north of my town (which is 20 miles south of Boston). The VT contingent would be looking at a long ride, about 250 miles.
If we really wanted to raise the stakes we could challenge the VT guys to glue their own heap together and take us on. I think this would be a hoot.
I've got the truck and trailer.
