  • New England Junkies....I've got an idea

Which could potentially be a disaster, but I digress.

    I propose a winter gathering!

Extensive selection of high-quality domain names. Knowledgeable, friendly customer support.

I've e-mailed these guys about their race schedule this winter. It's ice racing on a frozen lake in Maine. They plow a 2 mile long road course on the lake and run all kinds of races up there, including 3 hour endurance jobbies. The entry fee is like 30 bucks a guy.

I know there are a couple of us down here in SE Mass that could score a cheap ass beater and prep it for some bonzai action on the lake once or twice this winter. If we can do an endurance race I'm guessing we can swap a few drivers into the car.

Hell, it would be fun to just go up for the weekend, drink beer, freeze our asses off, watch the races, tell each other how much faster we are than the guys running, and bench race.

The lake is 160 miles north of my town (which is 20 miles south of Boston). The VT contingent would be looking at a long ride, about 250 miles.

If we really wanted to raise the stakes we could challenge the VT guys to glue their own heap together and take us on. I think this would be a hoot.

I've got the truck and trailer.

          nice CL candidate VT!

put a few hundred drywall screws through the tires from the inside, fill them with green goo tire sealer - and run it!

sounds like a blast - I want to see the video!

I love rangers - great commuter - great street strip, whatever.

there is something cool about hanging out the rear end instead of plowing through a corner in a FWD....

Can a car or truck with 4x4 participate?

Re: New England Junkies....I've got an idea

FWD cars should still be able to hang the rear out, especially on a lake.

I used to be able to hold my cars sideways around long corners at will. You know, turning left with the wheels turning right and vice versa. I have some experience on ice too. Haven't done it in a while though.

that maybe the only cool thing about winter - getting to hang the rear end out like the sprint car guys...

                      Brian,

Looks like fun for you guys, but I think you should invite some of the SoCal crowd as well as the Floridians and really have a good chuckle....

I think this would be hella cool for a Lemons-type race.

Ron, good idea, but if the boss shows up to the lake in his flippy flops, we'll be removing black toes with a pair of dykes by the end of the weekend.

                        F-Bomb on ice anyone?

Its a helluva lot of fun .But you need a good set of studded tires for max fun.I will maybe buy 4 of them soon.

Find safe snow tires like our legendary Hakkapeliitta tires, all season tires, all weather tires, and all terrain tires for your car, truck or SUV.

Can't we do this someplace that's about 70 degrees F? I moved here (NC) to get away from the cold. Seriously, since the heart attack, I don't function in the cold. Still, I hope y'all have fun and report the event here for all of us to see. Fun to look at for me, but not to do.
