  • Second generation f-body rags

Found this camero rag for sale today. Its one of two imported here when they were new. There is a 79 Trans Am rag here too,but i havent got pics of it.

This is the other Camaro.I have just one pic of it.

Guess they are pretty flimsy in the chassis,as sec gens with the targa roof are known for that...and cutting of the roof want help.

And i guess they are pretty rare by now too.

Were these made by an aftermarket company, like my '88 'Stang? Just curious.

I've seen those cars with the T-tops try to bend up like wet spaghetti on the drag strip, those 'verts must be creepy as hell.

Knew a guy from work that was the first owner of a blue and white ......somewhere near a 79 T/A . Was done by a shop similiar to ASC . I alway wondered why GM never made them in the second gens since they did the first . Then when I saw one done, even a good one.........they just don't look right.

I don't remember GM ever making a ragtop 2nd gen.
As for noodling, my 70 Skylark has a roll cage because they're notorious for breaking the front window on hard launches.

                    Re: Second generation f-body rags

I had seen some around during the eighties. I would also be concerned about chassis flex. 2nd gen F-bodies were not meant to be ragtops.
