So my uncle is a big wheel computer guy. He's over in India right now...yeah. If you've followed the news over the last couple days you'll recognize that it's about the last place you'd want to be hanging out right now.

He's in Mumbai where the crap is hitting the fan with terrorist attacks and hostage situations. He's under the guard of some private security force his company hired but he said it's like being in a war zone right.

Scary crap. They are formualting a bonzai plan to get the hell out of there.

Kind of a nutty deal so I figured I'd share. This is a crazy freaking world.

We will keep him in our prayers, and hope for is speedy return. Keep us posted.

Kinda sobering to compare that situation to our "huge" economic problems. Ours just mean that we have to save longer to get or keep what we want. Their problems mean loss of life or family.

Here's to your Uncle getting the hell out of there safely!

Somewhat related, I was presented with the opportunity to run a tanker for KBR(Halliburton)2 years ago...over in Iraq.

I happened to read the story about the guys being ambushed, and not being able to defend themselves..

DAMN good $$$, but just not worth the risk.......keeping my fingers crossed for all involved.

I hope he gets out of there FAST. From what I've seen on the news, that place is x10 hotter than anywhere else I've ever been...not good. :o

I hope your uncle and his co-workers make it out OK. I've got a friend who is supposed to go to Mumbai next week. It sounds like things are getting a little crazy in Thailand too. The scary thing about India and Pakistan is that they've got nukes.

But on a lighter note when I saw all that on the news I kept thinking. I wonder who will answer the tech help line if my computer goes down?

                            Good news.

This guy is a "take charge" sort of individual. So he did that and located the means to get him the F out of there, and stat.

He's about 600 miles away from there now and feeling safe. He'll be winging home shortly.

                            Whew....glad that's over for him.
