Your right it does come down to how someone drives, but do realize I drive like a bat out of hell, now granted I've gotten 18mpg in the city driving normal, I could probably get more if I pussy footed around, and I'll admit that if I hammer it every place I go, it's more like 16 mpg, but most of my fill-ups equate to 17-18 mpg. But as for highway mileage, face it that shouldn't change to much, since most people throw the car on cruise control and forget about it.

Because you like to compare apples to oranges, and say it's a fair comparison.

It seems a little sketchy though, like it was written by GM or the UAW. Only because all the Domestic cars are either brand new, or very questionable mileage figures (20mpg 4.8 liter v8 tahoe? seriously?) or the Honda Civic figures they quoted, which are well below the EPA ratings for "base engine" as stated in the report.

What's sketchy here?? These are 2009 EPA ratings. A check of Honda's website shows that there is no error. GM's long standing ability to pull above average highway milage ratings out of their V6 and V8 engines is something that I have referenced repeatedly in DOHC vs. pushrod debates.

And to add one more thing, my 2006 Chevy Duramax gets 22mpg on the highway driving at about 65mph, if I bump that up to 80-85 mph, it drops down to 19mpg. And in the city we get 17 mpg. Which basically blows away the Nissan Titan with it's 12 city and 17 highway, and god forbid you run E85, then it's 9 mpg in the city, and 13 mpg on the highway. And I don't believe I just wrote that, 9 mpg??, you'd be better off with a big block. :o

Ya Imports get better gas mileage??

c'mon man, make the argument that nobody's brought up yet. Why did they show you a 4.7/5spd Tundra mpg when the 380 hp 5.7/6spd gets MUCH better mileage. ?

No your not defending it at all, the Tundra gets the same mileage as the Titan, SAD . The fact is GM cars just get better fuel economy. I mean facts are facts. But that doesn't mean you got to like them.
