They are different and better, they are not owned by those Braizer folks that have the rest of them and all the stuff is Texas themed. I also claim that it is the correct way because the oldest operating DQ in the country is in Henderson, TX and I've been there ever few years since I was a kid with grandparents who live nearby.
Blizzard, if made right by a TEXAS DQ. The ones in the rest of the country are just odd imitations.
I may regret this question.... but what's different in Texas?
About the blizzard? Really not much other than they will still flip it upside down in front of you (had one make me 3 different ones before it would stay in the cup once) and its good to be home. DQ in TX is the first thing that will pop up in a small town after the Baptist Church and the Methodist Church, sometimes before the stop lights do. They make stuff like the Dude, Beltbuster, and Hungerbuster. One of the sides is Texas Toast and where else would Steak Fingers be a regular fast food menu item? Everywhere else a DQ is a 2nd to 3rd rate fast food chain that serves an imitatable ice cream item with generic burgers and hotdogs.
I always miss my TX DQ's when I'm gone but Ohio was just bad with no Sonics either. I could live with the Braizer DQ since I've been gone from TX since I joined the AF in 99 but the lack of a Sonic for 4yrs was not fun.
Sigh.....since they're moving AFRL out of Brooks AFB I doubt I'll be heading back to TX for an assignment unless I get a job at HQ AFRS. At least I can get a Coconut DrPepper on the way home today here in Tennessee
