  • what do you want to look at but not own...

Here's an empowering statement that I learned a few years ago...

" Dude.... I'm glad you built this... it's truly incredible... thanks for bringing it out for us to see and enjoy "... ( now I don't have to do one.... I'll just enjoy yours )

There are tons of things that fall into this category for me.... Things I dig... but really don't want to own... I want you to own it so I can enjoy it without the cost or insurance or hassles of it getting scratched... or having to keep it tuned.. buy tires... so on and so forth... I appreciate how much all of that costs... and frankly how much of a hassle it all is... so Hey... I really am glad other folks are into the my kind of junk...

P51 Mustang is top on my list... I love to look at them... to smell them... watch them fly... don't want the hassle of ownership... but god bless the folks that do... I can get an annual fix and call it a day... to them it's a life time affair.

    32 Fords...

Weird different kind of bikes... so and so forth

what kind of things are you glad other folks own?

I need someone else to own all my current junk.

      Someone other than the LAPD.

I'm grateful that my kid's school owns three junior dragsters. He gets to race without the financial commitment.

          I am so envious...

For me it's those ultra low mile, all original muscle cars.
They're fantastic to look at etc but you really can't drive 'em.
Expensive to insure, can't really put anymore miles on 'em.....as mentioned
glad somebody else has 'em so I can go eyeball, admire and leave.

Any Ridler award winner. Awesome, but I'm not spending that much money or worrying about the car.
In fact any "Great 8" car.

Any boat, really ANY boat. A wise man once told me "if it flys, floats or f..ks, rent it"

I can admire a Harley, but nah.

                  Ditto on the P51.

Big ass tow rig and a stacker trailer. mmmm yeah.

An Enzo, a Veyron, a Koenigsegg. Now an Aston Martin I'd own.

I have to agree on the P-51 and add a B-17. My Grandfather flew one named Phyllis (after my aunt) during WWII out of England. My father knew a general who had a P-51 Mustang named Yosemite Sam. I thought it was so cool. I could listen to it sit there idling on the ramp all day. Too bad he wrecked it on take off. Rudder cable failed and without the rudder the engine's torque flipped it over on it's lid just after leaving the ground.

Something about the smell of old Air Force planes I just love. Can't explain it, but all of them smell exactly the same, jet or not.

Super model, stripper, hot poster chic... Fun to look at, but damn glad someone else is paying that tab. Plus, once they start going down hill, the maintenance and hassle REALLY aren't worth it, and by then the cost of getting rid of them is prohibitive too.

                        Kinda like a Jag.

I always said I shouldn't be allowed to own a Deusenberg because I'd drive it - regularly. In reality, a trip Auburn from time to time really scratches the itch. Keith - what class should I run the SJ in?
